HAPHOTELS ABOVE PARHAP Affiliate
Hotels Above Par · Author Affiliate Program

Your HAP revenue toolkit.

The right recommendation. Your assigned membership link. A clear path from the first introduction to a qualifying sale.

01 · The program

Share the book.
Recommend membership.

Boutique Books are no longer sold individually. Membership referrals and links to read a guide have different jobs.

Premium + Founding memberships

Your affiliate link earns the credit.

Use the personal Premium link HAP assigned to you. It opens a reader email-entry screen before the normal membership page.

Monthly: 15% on the first qualifying month only.

Annual: 15% on the first qualifying annual term only.

Future renewals: no additional commission.

The affiliate link does not provide a membership discount. The current price is shown at checkout.

Boutique Books · Read on HAP

The collection is part of Premium.

Premium and Founding memberships include every Boutique Book and new releases while membership is active.

Hotel Reviews are free to all subscribers, on every tier. Free subscribers can also access two Premium pieces of content each month without upgrading. Hotel Reviews do not count toward that monthly Premium allowance.

Readers browse the public collection, then open the post on HAP. No separate book purchase or library login.

Sharing a book's post, its map, or the collection does not by itself establish a paid membership referral.

02 · Your links

Your affiliate desk.

This page checks an existing HAP-issued identity. It does not enroll you, create a new affiliate account, or make up a link from your name.

Assigned first.
Checked here.

Use the Premium link or link name from your HAP affiliate onboarding details. Do not enter a newsletter-referral code, author-page address, or a new name you would like to use.

Missing your details? Contact the HAP team who enrolled you. Your identity must already be registered before this desk can find it.

Use the full go.readhotelsabovepar.com link ending in /premium, or the exact assigned link name between the slashes.

The check sends your link name to HAP's existing author registry. No reader email, purchase, subscriber change, or commission is created. This device can remember the link name; it must be checked again before copying.

Enter the exact details HAP assigned you, then select Check my link.
Your membership affiliate linkA checked link will appear here.

Use the clean published post address, not a draft or preview link. Without a post, the copy bank uses the Boutique Book collection. This checks the address format only, not publication status.

A link is not an enrollment. A click is not a sale.

The desk verifies that a registered link can resolve. The reader must still complete the email step, continue to checkout using the same email, and make a qualifying paid purchase. HAP then reconciles attribution and payment.

03 · The shelf

Send readers to the right place.

The Boutique Book finder stays current as new guides join the collection. No outdated product list, standalone book price, or book discount code.

04 · Copy bank

Useful words, with the right link.

Check your assigned identity and confirm the writer above to enable copying. Add a published post address for a guide-specific recommendation. Edit the wording into your own voice.

Premium recommendation

Check and confirm your assigned link to prepare this recommendation.

Share a city guide

The published guide link and membership affiliate link will be clearly separated.

Recommend another writer's guide

A membership recommendation can use your assigned affiliate link even when you did not write the guide.

Newsletter footer

A compact reading invitation, membership link, and commission disclosure will appear here.
05 · Attribution + promotion

Keep the path intact.

The identity attached to the qualifying membership purchase is what matters, not who wrote the guide or originally referred the newsletter subscriber.

The reader opens your assigned link.

The HAP email-entry screen must show your registered writer name. A generic homepage, post, newsletter-referral URL, or raw Upgrade link is not a replacement.

The reader submits their own HAP email.

They use the email attached to their HAP account, or the one they will use at checkout. They must press Continue. Merely opening the page does not save pending referral credit.

The bridge hands off the referral.

For an existing eligible free subscriber, the backend writes the pending author code and time to their subscriber record. For a brand-new reader, the existing bridge passes affiliate tracking parameters into checkout instead.

The reader completes a qualifying paid purchase.

They continue with the same email. A free signup, complimentary membership, or opening a Boutique Book is not a paid affiliate sale. Already-paid members should use their existing access, not buy again to create a referral.

HAP checks and reconciles the record.

The backend handles the membership-upgrade event and resolves referral information. The final commission depends on a qualifying paid transaction, the attribution rules, and refund or adjustment review. The Studio is not a sales dashboard.

Three links. Three different jobs.

Published post: reading and discovery.

Newsletter-referral link: credit for bringing in a newsletter subscriber, not a membership commission statement.

Personal Premium affiliate link: the membership-referral path through HAP's email-entry screen.

Promotion standard: add useful context, recommend what fits the traveler, and keep the disclosure close. Share through your own newsletter, website, social posts, video descriptions, or direct replies to people asking for help. Do not cold-message Community members or drop promotional links into unrelated threads.

Disclosure

Use beside the membership recommendation.

“I may earn a commission if you join HAP Premium through my affiliate link.”

The link itself does not replace a clear disclosure. For any separately approved product-code offer, use a disclosure that accurately describes that specific purchase.

06 · Payouts

Accrue now.
Pay by January 31.

Only qualifying attributed revenue belongs in the final payout. HAP reconciles sales, refunds, and adjustments before issuing payment.

Payout calendar

One annual reconciliation.

Through December 31: qualifying commissions accumulate.

On or before January 31: HAP issues the reconciled payout for that accrual period.

Future monthly or annual renewals do not generate additional commission. Test records and complimentary access are not payable sales.

Tax + payment setup

Watch your inbox.

HAP HR contacts participating writers about required tax-related paperwork, forms, and payment information.

Expected sender: [email protected]

This public Studio does not collect tax forms, banking details, or payment credentials. Complete any required paperwork through the arrangements provided by HAP.

07 · Repeatability

Your 20-minute monthly habit.

One useful recommendation, correctly attributed, is worth more than a pile of untracked links.

Minutes 1–10

Choose one fit.

Find a city guide or hotel story that genuinely matches your audience. Add your own perspective, then decide whether you are inviting people to read or recommending paid membership.

Minutes 11–20

Check, publish, participate.

Confirm your assigned affiliate identity, copy the correct membership link, and include the disclosure. Publish the recommendation and answer relevant reader questions.

08 · Reference

Program FAQ.

The details that keep a good recommendation from becoming an attribution problem.

Does typing my name here create an affiliate account?

No. HAP must first register your affiliate identity through its onboarding process. This page checks an already-issued link name against the author registry. It does not create or change author records, subscriber records, codes, or enrollment.

What should my membership link look like?

It starts with https://go.readhotelsabovepar.com/, continues with your exact HAP-assigned link name, and ends in /premium. Use the checked link from the desk. Do not invent a link name, use another author's link, or copy the Upgrade URL after the redirect.

What does “Registered link found” actually verify?

It checks that the supplied link name resolves to an active author record and that the expected Pages handoff bindings are present. It does not prove that the visitor owns that identity, that the backend credential works, that checkout tracking succeeded, or that a commission was recorded. Confirm the writer name before sharing; HAP verifies the full sale path separately.

Can I promote a Boutique Book I did not write?

Yes. Share its published HAP post to help readers explore. Use your own personal Premium affiliate link if you recommend membership. A qualifying membership referral follows that affiliate path, not the guide's byline. Boutique Books no longer have individual book checkouts.

Should I share the guide link or my affiliate link?

Use both when appropriate, with different labels. “Read the guide” uses the published post address. “Join HAP Premium through my link” uses your personal membership affiliate link. A plain post link does not carry this affiliate handoff by itself.

Can I use my normal newsletter-referral link instead?

No. Newsletter-referral links identify newsletter acquisition. Premium affiliate links route membership recommendations through the author/email handoff. Newsletter-referral counts are not an affiliate sales ledger.

Does the reader receive an email verification code here?

No. This affiliate step asks the reader to enter their email and press Continue. It is not a sign-in or an email-ownership verification. HAP's checkout or site may separately require its normal sign-in process.

What if the reader already subscribes to the free newsletter?

They should still use your personal Premium affiliate link and submit the email connected to that free account. The existing bridge writes a pending author code and date before sending them to checkout. Sending only a generic Upgrade link skips that step.

What if the reader is completely new to HAP?

The existing bridge does not create a subscriber during the email step. It sends affiliate tracking parameters into the normal signup/upgrade path, and the backend uses those as a fallback. Keep the handoff intact, use the same email, and return through the affiliate link again if the reader comes back later. Do not promise that browsing away or switching devices will preserve this new-reader path.

How long does the referral remain available?

The existing backend checks a saved pending subscriber record for up to 30 days. The brand-new reader path uses checkout tracking instead, so this is not a blanket guarantee for every click or device. The clearest instruction is to reopen the intended writer's original affiliate link and complete the email step immediately before purchasing.

What if the reader is already a Premium or Founding member?

They should sign in and use their current membership. The bridge does not offer an already-paid member a new upgrade for attribution. A normal renewal is not an additional commissionable sale.

Do complimentary memberships create an affiliate commission?

No. Complimentary access, including the annual Premium gift offered to previous standalone Boutique Book buyers, is not a qualifying paid membership sale. HAP must reconcile payment records before payout; an upgrade event or an access grant alone is not proof of revenue. Existing paid subscribers with billing questions should contact HAP before making another purchase.

Does the Premium link give the reader a discount?

No membership discount is included in this affiliate path. The reader sees the normal membership price at checkout.

When are commissions paid?

Qualifying commissions accumulate through December 31. HAP reconciles paid sales, refunds, and adjustments, then issues payment on or before January 31. Watch for required tax/payment setup from [email protected].

Where do I see sales and commissions?

This Studio verifies links and prepares copy; it is not a sales dashboard. HAP uses its internal attribution records and payment reconciliation to calculate commissions. For a missing-sale question, contact your HAP program contact with the original affiliate link and relevant date. Do not enter customer payment details in this public page.
